Dunk Island is located approximately 4 kilometres off the Tropical North Queensland coast (the township of Mission Beach), midway between Townsville and Cairns. Regular flights are available from all major Australian capital cities to Dunk Island via Cairns. Air Transfer Hinterland Aviation operates flights between Cairns Airport and Dunk Island. Alternatively, if you would prefer a private transfer charter flights are also available. Flights take approximately 45 minutes. Passengers must advise their connecting flight details 7 days prior to departure. Coach & Boat Transfer Mission Beach Dunk Island Connections operate services between Northern Beaches, Cairns Airport and Cairns City three times daily to connect with the Quickcat to Dunk Island. Transfer time is approximately 2.5 hours from Cairns Airport to Dunk Island. Boat Transfer The Quickcat departs Clump Point (2 hours south of Cairns) to Dunk Island and return twice daily. The transfer takes approx. 20 minutes Child rates applicable when sharing room with a minimum of two adults. Child ages 3 - 15 inclusive.
